MIAGI (Music is A Great Investment) is a non-profit organisation and was founded in 2001 by Robert Brooks. Their mission is to "unite the power of classical, indigenous and jazz and thus offer a key to positive social development and to deep understanding between people across all borders”. Their vision includes the following:
1. Consolidating democracy and promoting human rights
MIAGI addresses the issue of ethnic relations through its all-inclusive programming. By offering a platform for intercultural creative dialogue, MIAGI brings young people, artists and audiences together that would otherwise never meet.
2. Poverty reduction in the long-term
MIAGI promotes music education for children and youth as an effective tool for social upliftment. Studies world-wide show that music education and participation in musical activities are the right tools to awaken young people’s creative vocation, promote social development and community cohesion, develop life skills and enhance career opportunities.

He performed at Festivals such as Salzburg Festival, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Wiener Festwochen, Wien Modern, András Schiff's Festival in Mondsee and many others. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, Orchestra National du Paris, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, are amongst the Orchestras with which Robert has sung under the baton of conductors such as Herbert von Karajan, Yehudi Menuhin, Charles Dutoit and Nicolaus Harnoncourt, to mention just a few. He has also sung in many important theatres including the Vienna State Opera, La Scala Milano and during the Salzburg Festival. In recital his partners at the piano include Ralf Gothoni, Helmut Deutsch, Ingrid Hedlund, and Andras Schiff.
Robert returned to South Africa for the first time in 2000 with the vision of bringing African indigenous music together with Western classical and making lesser known African Music cultures known to audiences, composers and musicians nationally and internationally.
